Listing Details

The Greenway is a project with 3 fully accessible Greenways or walking and cycling routes in Aylesbury and The Aylesbury Vale. Currently there is The Waddesdon Greenway from Waddesdon to Berryfields Parkway, the Platinum Way Cycle Route from the town centre to Berryfields Parkway, and St. Peters Greenway from Berryfields to Buckingham Park.

The Buckinghamshire Greenway is a proposed long-distance walking, wheeling, and cycling route planned by Buckinghamshire Council to run across the county, including links through areas such as Aylesbury. It is intended as a continuous “active travel” corridor, designed to connect towns, villages, and key destinations over a distance of more than 50 miles. The project forms part of wider plans to improve sustainable transport options and encourage healthier ways of travelling across Buckinghamshire.

The greenway is designed to provide safe, off-road or low-traffic routes suitable for pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchair users, and other non-motorised travel. Its aims include improving access to employment, education, public transport, and leisure opportunities, while also supporting tourism and connections between communities. The Buckinghamshire Greenway is being developed in phases, with sections planned or delivered over time as part of the county’s long-term infrastructure strategy.
