Some of my warmest early memories are of spending time watercolour painting with my grandad when I was a young child. Forty years later, I bought myself some watercolour paint pans, pencils, and fineliner art pens to take it up again. This is my most recent attempt, traced initially from a photo I took at Animal Antiks in North Marston whilst walking an Alpaca.Â
I've never painted, or sketched, a portrait before. But I was wanting to paint something for friends to celebrate their engagement and the arrival of a baby. I could only think to suggest the figures using minimalist lines, and after much doodling, it all seemed to flow into a heart shape. I used a 0.1mm Pitt pen (permanent and waterproof) and watercolour pencils, bought from Hobbycraft at the retail park on Cambridge Street.
