Columbo
I had to switch from Barclays when my finances were low and I was in, and occasionally over, my overdraft. The charges for this are much higher with Barclays, and drive you into further debt. I remember every month getting about £20 in bank charges. Having switched, my charges are never more than a couple of pounds in the same financial circumstances. If you rely on your overdraft and sometimes go over, steer clear! I am now with First Direct which I have found to be much better for a free banking account.
